Not sure where this past year went but here we are putting 2010 behind us and looking forward to the start of a new, hopefully prosperous and healthy new year for all of us.

I would love to hear from collectors as to what their best find or bargain was for 2010 or even  your favorite addition to your collection for the year. I didn't add very many pieces this year but am thrilled with the few I did - two beautiful Bo Peeps with different decals I had not been able to
find and a gold shamrock Smiley with a small butterfly on it's head. This year am hoping to find one,  maybe two, chanticleers that have eluded me.

Doug and I were discussing a gold Granny Ann listed on Ebay with peculiar decals that I feel are fake (KNOW YOUR DECALS) when he mentioned did I know that the base of the Granny Ann's  differ - if I knew that, I had forgotten. So went about checking my Granny Ann's - all of my peach ones do have the full foot.

"did you know the grannys have two bottom designs? Some with a full foot and some with a widely segmented foot. i have a full foot with a peach apron. three lavenders and a green with   segmented, all GT. any plains that i have are in boxes somewhere. all that i have are "patented granny ann usa" and have been ground".
SO, Your assignment is to, while you're sitting home this month in the snow, take an inventory of your Granny Anns and let us know which ones in your collection have which foot. (Doug)
The one at the right is the one that raised the initial  question. The foot doesn't appear to be ground.
The two below illustrate the foot variation.

December was a frustrating month for me on Ebay - I  watched so many great gold trim pieces NOT SELL - and the prices were very fair, even in fact way low - some Bo Peeps and chanticleers at such bargain prices it was hard not to buy a duplicate. Not sure if the new collectors aren't as interested in pieces other than cookie jars or if long time collectors already  had these pieces but whatever the reason, there were some great pieces that should have sold. Maybe the economy has all of us prioritizing differently.

Last month's newsletter ref the gold trim figurines was posted before we received some pictures that I just have to share - fantastic pieces - I am sure readers will enjoy seeing these.  Has been a long time since I found one to add to my collection so I was really drooling over these figurines and their gorgeous decals.

Wishing everyone the happiest New Year.

WHAT'S THIS !!!!!
Sorry (not really), but I just couldn't help myself. Somehow this "smiley" in a corn king cob showed up here, honest - I didn't buy it. My wife told me to figure out something to do with it. There it is !  I was going to use it for the banner at the top of the page, but didn't want you to think Lin is deranged too.
If you think it is still possible after being put through this -
I wish you all a Happy, Prosperous, and Healthy upcoming year !!!!!!!!
